Virginia-based mezzo-soprano Bry Toll is known for her “classic, sparkly” sound and “touching vulnerability” (Front Row Center). In the summer of 2025, she joined the Camerata Bardi Vocal Academy as a young artist, where she made her role debut as Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro) in collaboration with Teatro Grattacielo.

A recent graduate of James Madison University, Bry earned her BM in Vocal Performance, performing roles such as Valletto (L’incoronazione di Poppea) and scenes as Casilda (The Gondoliers), while regularly appearing with the JMU Opera Chorus. Her work extends beyond classical performance, including studies in jazz technique in Montreal with Sienna Dahlen and Mike Rud, leading to performances with the JMU Jazz Band and local ensembles.

Bry continued her training internationally with the Lyric Opera Studio Weimar, where she debuted Papagena (Die Zauberflöte) and Barbarina (Le nozze di Figaro) in consecutive summers. She has also worked with Shakespeare Opera Theatre, covering roles in Macbeth and La bohème, and remains active in liturgical music, with oratorio credits including Fauré’s Requiem, Stanford’s Magnificat in G, and Saint-Saëns’ Christmas Oratorio. She currently serves as Soprano Section Leader at St. John’s Norwood Episcopal Church in Chevy Chase, MD.
